Mullum Music Festival Busking Policy 2018

We want you to have a great time busking but at the same time respect that the Mullum Music Festival is an artistically directed event, so its important your activities don’t conflict with already programmed events of the festival.

Here are some guidelines to help you have a great 4 days :

- All buskers must obtain a Busking permit from the Byron shire Council (T: 0266267000 | 70-90 Station St, Mullumbimby)

- All amplified busking must cease at 10pm and no amplified busking is allowed between the hours of 10pm and 8am. Non-amplified busking to end at 12am. No busking is to occur between 12am and 8am.

- No Busking on Dalley Steet please, for festival weekend please only busk on burringbar street. *See permitted areas below.

- Please do not busk in Festival designated areas, including the Civic Hall Grounds, Festival Market Place or festival market place precinct.

- Please no busking in side street off Burringbar Street

- Where electrically amplified sound equipment is used, it must not be powered by mains power or generators. Only battery power from sealed (gel) or dry cell batteries may be used.

- Please only busk for 2 hour periods at a time.

ACOUSTIC BUSKING is permitted around the town during the 2018 festival
with the exception of the following areas:

- BURRINGBAR ST - DALLEY ST AREA STRICTLY NOT ON CIVIC HALL & EX SERVICES BLOCK DALLEY ST.

- BURRINGBAR ST - STRICTLY NOT EMPIRE CAFE BLOCK & SIDE LANE.

- BURRINGBAR ST - STRICTLY NOT ON COURTHOUSE HOTEL BLOCK TO SIDE LANE (CHINCOGAN GENERAL STORE)

* BYRON RANGERS WILL PATROL THE STREETS TO ENSURE THAT BUSKERS DO NOT PERFORM IN THESE AREAS.

* ONLY PERFORMERS WITH BYRON COUNCIL & OFFICIAL FESTIVAL BUSKING PERMITS
ARE FREE TO PERFORM UNTIL 8PM.
